“Timid Drip” by Desmond O’Neill

Desmond O’Neill’s new book is a delightful mixture that will appeal to all ages.

At first glance, it is a children’s book telling an intriguing tale about a little water-drop called Timid Drip. He is different from all his fellow water-drops who bravely jump down waterfalls on the Atherton Tablelands so that they can earn all the colours of the rainbow. Bullied by the other water-drops, Timid Drip rebels and refuses to jump. When the other water-drops realise he is missing, they feel very guilty and start looking all over for him. They are most surprised when they find him in an under-water water-drop nursery. With the help of all the water-drops, they are lifted in a cloud that rains beautiful, pure rain all over the Atherton Tablelands.

The book’s surprise is that it is lovingly illustrated with Desmond O’Neill’s beautiful photographs taken at various scenic places on the Atherton Tablelands. Hence, the book appeals to anyone interested in Nature, photography and the fauna and flora of the Atherton Tablelands, making the book an ideal gift or souvenir for tourists.
