Noel Humphreys’ poems in his first book, This Homeland of Mine, were received with such enthusiasm that he has written another book. His second venture covers “Aussie folklore” and deals with such topics as the Cobb & Co stagecoach, the Min Min lights, the Eureka Stockade and some of our early Australian explorers.
The menagerie of pets and animals that surround his home provided the creativity for some of the poems in this book. Also included from his youth are episodes of his many “firsts”, such as mowing the lawn and his introduction to nicotine and beer, both of which have left lasting memories.
Noel has included poems about his military service and a plea for others to reach out to those who suffer after-effects from their military service.
Fans of This Homeland of Mine will enjoy this book.
