Janina Flueras

Janina Flueras PhD has been a teacher of literature for more than 30 years, but her interests in literature and education expanded when she began to seek answers to deeper problems, like the meaning of life. After orienting her interests towards philosophy, psychology and science, she became aware that answers to these deep questions cannot be provided by one science or discipline alone. Her reading then became a journey of seeking the truth.

Her intuitions were confirmed in two ways. The first was when she came across the notion of transdisciplinary methodology, which indicates that in order to understand reality there needs to be meaningful communication among scientists in different scientific fields.

The second was when she encountered a spiritual method that changed her life. Meeting Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi and her method of Sahaja Yoga meditation revealed the fact that, to know reality, one must start by knowing oneself, as ancient Greek and Indian wisdom is teaching us. Inside us is the truth which can transform our being, which can help us see the world and other people with completely different eyes.

In addition to science, spirituality and art are complementary ways of looking at reality. As reality can be known through inner experience, this experience can be expressed through art and poetry. In the words of the author:

The world in which we live is not an equation to solve; it is a metaphor to interpret. A metaphor is not just a figure of speech, but the only form by which inner truth and beauty can be expressed.
